Padres Minor League Notebook: 4-19-10

Craig Stansberry goes yard for the second time in three games but Portland loses a close one. Matt Buschmann had a strong start for the Missions – all for naught. Nick Schmidt allowed five runs in a loss. Griffin Benedict hits a grand slam, the second in as many nights for the Tincaps, but Fort Wayne is stifled.

Portland (5-7) lost 3-2 to Fresno (Giants) Craig Stansberry was the only player to get through against Madison Bumgarner, hitting a solo homer in the third. It was his lone hit in three trips. Stansberry has homered in two of his last three games, and despite a .22 average, he has been on base in seven of the nine games where he has registered a plate appearance.
