Tim Stauffer, 26, missed the entire 2008 season on the disabled list with a right shoulder strain. Originally signed by San Diego as a first-round selection in the 2003 First-Year Player Draft, the right-hander has gone 4-7 with a 6.37 ERA (67 ER/94.2 IP) in 18 games (17 starts) over parts of three Major League seasons with the Padres (2005-07).
Kevin Cameron did not factor in a decision in 2008, missing 73 games on the disabled list with a sprained right elbow (May 7-July 28). The 28-year-old posted a 3.60 ERA (4 ER/10.0 IP) in 10 relief appearances. Cameron is 2-0 with a 2.91 ERA (22 ER/68.0 IP) in 58 games since making his Major League debut with the Padres in 2007.
