Drew Macias finished the season with a .288 average in Double-A San Antonio, clubbing 27 doubles, four triples and 11 RBIs. He also added 92 runs scored and notched 66 RBIs while leading the Padres minor league system with 83 walks.
Macias hit five homers over his final 30 games and stole 18 bases in 24 attempts on the season. The outfielder spent time in San Diego last season after being called up in September.
Mike Ekstrom went 11-8 with one save and a 4.58 ERA across 41 games with the Missions, getting 15 starts. He placed second in the Texas League in victories and after posting a 5.86 ERA as a starter, going 4-5, the right-hander went 7-3 with a 2.57 ERA across 26 relief appearances.
Over his final 50 innings of work, Ekstrom posted a 2.34 ERA with a 9-3 record. He allowed 13 runs over that stretch of 23 appearances, striking out 53.
