Robertson, a 33rd-round draft selection in the 2008 First Year Player Draft out of Oregon State University, is on pace to win the NWL batting title, thus becoming just the fourth Emeralds player to do so. Coming into tonight's action, Robertson is hitting .371 with three home runs and 40 RBI. He ranks in the top five in seven offensive categories including average (.371, 1st), runs scored (55, 1st), hits (102, 1st), on-base percentage (.438, 2nd), runs batted in (40, 2nd), stolen bases (20, 3rd) and doubles (17, 4th).
Sawyer Carroll and Rob Musgrave join Robertson on the All-Star Team. Carroll, from the University of Kentucky and Musgrave, from Wichita State University, were named by Baseball America as First Team All-American's. One of three outfielders named to the squad, Carroll, who was promoted to Ft. Wayne of the Class A Midwest League on August 12th, finished his NWL season hitting .299 with eight homers and 39 runs batted in. As of today, Carroll remains third in home runs (8) and second in slugging percentage (.548).
Musgrave, who was named to the squad as a left-handed reliever, is 6-1 with a 2.93 ERA in 25 games. In 40.0 innings of work, Musgrave has fanned 61 against just eight walks. His strikeouts per nine innings ratio of 13.73:1 leads the Northwest League and is sixth among all short-season leagues in the country (6).
