The San Antonio Missions dropped game two of the Texas League Championship series to the Springfield Cardinals and head on the road for the rest of the best-of-five series.

San Antonio lost 6-2 to Springfield [best-of-five series tied 1-1]

Things probably won’t go your way when the opposing pitcher smacks two doubles and collects two RBIs. Cory Rauschenberger is no slouch at the plate. He hit .316 during the regular season with six hits in 19 at bats and helped his own cause in the second, hitting a ground-rule double to plate two runs off Cesar Ramos (1-1) to cap a three-run frame.

Rauschenberger also doubled to open the fifth off Ramos but was thrown out at home trying to score on a groundout.

After allowing one run over six innings in his first postseason start, Ramos allowed three runs on five hits and two walks over five frames. The Missions staff allowed as many runs in this contest as they did in their first four postseason games.

Drew Macias was the only player to notch a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a triple. His three-bagger in the bottom of the seventh, followed by a Luis Cruz single, broke up the shutout bid. Cruz was in on both runs, scoring the final run on a Matt Antonelli single in the ninth.

Macias entered the game with one hit in his first 12 postseason at bats and had yet to score a run. Cruz had also entered the game without touching home but has five RBIs, tying him for the club lead.

The series will resume on Friday in Springfield after an off day. The final three games, as necessary, will take place on the road.
