The right-handed hitting Shea Hillenbrand played in 53 games this season with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim before being designated for assignment on June 29. He cleared waivers and became a free agent on July 11. Hillenbrand batted .254 (50-for-197) with five doubles, three home runs, 22 RBI, 19 runs scored and five walks. He signed with the Angels as a Major League free agent on Dec. 26, 2006.
