Clay Hensley, 27, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 4 (retroactive to May 3) due to a strained right groin. He has made three minor league rehabilitation starts for Portland, going 1-1 with a 7.30 ERA (10 ER/12.1 IP). The right-hander yielded 21 hits over 12.1 innings, walking 11 batters and recording six strikeouts. In six starts for the Padres this season, Hensley was 1-3 with a 7.62 ERA (24 ER/28.1 IP), compiling 14 strikeouts and issuing 16 walks.
The 31-year-old Hiram Bocachica was claimed off outright waivers from the Oakland Athletics yesterday and will be wearing No. 7. He has played in six games with Oakland this season, going 1-for-17 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored and two walks.
Oscar Robles, 31, has batted .238 (5-for-21) with two RBI in 16 games for San Diego this season. He has made two starts, both at second base, since he was recalled from Triple-A Portland on April 23. Robles hit .309 (17-for-55) with three doubles, three triples, six RBI, six runs scored and five walks in 16 games for the Beavers to start the season.
