The club also placed right-handed pitcher Scott Cassidy on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right knee (retroactive to March 23) and purchased the contract of infielder Oscar Robles and optioned him to Triple-A Portland.
Robles hit .292 with 14 hits in 48 at bats for the Padres this spring and was in contention for a bench job.
Justin Hampson allowed three runs, two earned, on five hits over seven innings, posting a 2.57 ERA.
Andrew Brown went 1-3 with a 10.97 ERA over ten appearances. In 10.2 innings he allowed 19 hits, walked 11 and struck out nine.
Justin Germano went 1-0 with a 6.93 ERA over nine appearances between San Diego and Philadelphia this spring. In 13 innings he allowed 11 runs, nine earned, on 19 hits and four walks.
Pete Laforest hit .378, going 14-for-37 with four doubles, three homers and ten RBIs.
In addition, the Padres announced left-handed pitcher Shawn Estes and catcher Todd Greene will remain at extended Spring Training in Peoria to continue their rehabilitation programs.
The Padres 40-man roster now stands at 36 and the club has 25 players in Big League camp.
