Padres ship three to minors

Peoria, AZ-- The San Diego Padres today reassigned infielders Manny Alexander and Royce Huffman, and catcher Luke Carlin to minor league camp.

Manny Alexander went 6-for-23 over 12 games this spring, notching a double, a triple, a homer, and four RBI's. He did not draw a walk and whiffed just once, adding one stolen base.

Royce Huffman played in 19 games for the Padres this spring, netting five hits in 27 at bats. He had two doubles, two walks, and struck out eight times. Huffman also added two steals.

Luke Carlin saw action in 13 games this spring, the majority as a defensive replacement. He went 2-for-12 at the plate with two walks and five strikeouts.

The Padres now have 36 players in Big League camp, including 32 players from the 40-man roster and 4 non-roster invitees. Recommended Stories
