Peoria, AZ-- The San Diego Padres optioned left-handed pitcher Ryan Ketchner and infielders Luis Cruz and Craig Stansberry to Triple-A Portland. The club also reassigned right-handed pitcher Steve Watkins and infielder Brian Myrow to minor league camp.

Additionally, the Padres have requested waivers on right-handed pitcher Mike Adams for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release.

Ketchner went 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA over four appearances, allowing one unearned run on two hits, one walk, one hit batsman and striking out one.

Cruz had two hits in 11 at bats over 11 games for the Padres this spring. He doubled and added three RBIs, drawing one walk and whiffing three times.

Stansberry collected four hits in 14 at bats for the Friars over 12 games. He had one RBI, struck out four times and walked once.

Watkins pitched in three games, yielding one run on four hits over three innings of work.

Myrow received four at bats and went hitless, striking out twice.

The Padres now have 43 players in Big League camp, including 33 players from the 40-man roster and 10 non-roster invitees.
