--Which translates out as a whales reproductive organ. No, but seriously.
I was just out in San Diego for FriarFest 2007. I was with several of the Padres spending time with the faithful fans.
Not to mention, the Padres had us up in the Omni hotel - 15th floor – huge “practically all the wall” windows to the left of my gihugic (I don’t care if that isn’t a word – it is now) king size bed, which I rolled over four times, and I was still in the middle of the bed. At the foot of my bed, ten steps to the double sliding glass doors out to the balcony with, I might add, PETCO Park practically within screaming distance – and I am talking about the seats.
I got to hang with Mike Cameron and met several of the fans, and, like I said before, they were literally the coolest fans on Saturday and Sunday.
It was mid fifties or so and everybody was completely bundled up and frozen. I was feelin’ quite comfy with a short sleeve collared shirt. I shocked them when I told them the night before I left it was –7 degrees in my hometown.
Ok, so, I'm not going to lie...for the longest time...even tho’ I had never been there, I was always a little undecided with the more sun the more expensive living of California and, better yet, San Diego, but let me tell you the mind is a mysterious thing because I'm feelin’ San Diego and the wind has shifted.
I had way too much fun and that made me even more excited for the upcoming seasons. I only wish my family could have been there. My grandparents, my aunts, uncles, grandma, friends, my boy Herbie, and Kristen’s family and my girly girl with me.
Yea, I said girly girl... what of it.
I know it was just a few days and yea I'm not there – yet – but it was still a chance of a lifetime for me and I wish they all could have seen it.
Well, I'm gonna go now. I'm tired and damn it I'm typing this on my phone – yea thumbs are cramping. Until later...
