John Hudgins, 25, is 1-1 with a 6.38 ERA (13 ER/18.1 IP) in seven games (two starts) for the Rangers' Triple-A Oklahoma affiliate. Over parts of four minor league seasons in the Texas organization (2003-06), Hudgins has a career record of 13-15 with two saves and a 4.40 ERA (140 ER/286.1 IP) in 60 games (40 starts).
Vince Sinisi, 25, is batting .220 (11-for-50) with four doubles and seven RBI at Oklahoma after beginning the season at Double-A Frisco where he batted .309 (21-for-68) with nine RBI in 18 games. Over parts of four minor league seasons with Texas (2003-06), Sinisi has a career batting average of .295 (239-for-811) with 18 home runs, 37 doubles and 112 RBI in 177 games.
Freddy Guzman, 25, is batting .274 (34-for-124) with two home runs and 14 RBI in 30 games for Triple-A Portland. Over parts of six minor league seasons in the Padres organization (2000-2004; 2006), Guzman has a career batting average of .272 (424-for-1558) with nine home runs and 120 RBI in 399 games.
Cesar Rojas, 19, was at extended Spring Training with the Padres and has not appeared in an official minor league game in 2006. In one minor league season at Rookie-level Peoria, Rojas went 2-4 with a 6.75 ERA (37 ER/49.1 IP) in 13 games (11) starts.
Both Hudgins and Sinisi will report to Double-A Mobile and with the trade, the Padres now have 37 players on the 40-man roster.
Jim Brower, 34, went 0-1 with a 13.86 ERA (19 ER/12.1 IP) with nine strikeouts in 12 games for the Baltimore Orioles in 2006. Brower, who was designated for assignment by the Orioles on May 3. He will go to extended spring training to work out some of the kinks. Over parts of eight Major League seasons with the Cleveland Indians (1999-2000), Cincinnati Reds (2001-02), Montreal Expos (2002), San Francisco Giants (2003-05), Atlanta Braves (2005) and Orioles (2006), Brower has a career record of 33-32 with a 4.56 ERA (285 ER/563.0 IP) in 345 games (28 starts).
