Sansoe promoted; Guerrero to Fort Wayne

Fort Wayne, IN – Mike Sansoe became the latest Wizard to be promoted when he was called up to the Lake Elsinore Storm of the California League today. Santiago Guerrero will join the Fort Wayne team in Beloit, Wisconsin for their four-game series against the Snappers (Minnesota Twins affiliate).

Santiago Guerrero was signed by the San Diego Padres organization in 2001 and spent four seasons with the Padres’ Dominican Summer League team. Guerrero was with the Eugene Emeralds of the Northwest League for the 2005 season. Last year, in 55 games for Eugene, he hit .253 with five doubles, seven triples, a pair of home runs and 31 runs batted in.

Guerrero opened the 2006 season in the Padres extended spring training camp in Peoria, Arizona.

Mike Sansoe was San Diego’s 18th round selection in the 2005 June Amateur Draft. In 10 games with the Wizards this year he hit .268 with five doubles, four runs batted in and six steals.
