Wizards get new trainer

Fort Wayne, IN – The Fort Wayne Wizards gained another promotion from the Eugene Emeralds today when JoJo Tarantino was named the new trainer for the 2006 season. Tarantino replaces former trainer Paul Navarro who was promoted to the San Diego Padres.

Tarantino joins third-year manager Randy Ready, second-year hitting coach Max Venable and first-year pitching Tom Bradley on the 2006 Wizards staff.

Tarantino began his professional career in 2004 with the Emeralds after serving as an intern for the Padres head trainer Todd Hutcheson and assistant trainer Jim Daniels during the 2003 season.

He graduated from San Diego State University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, emphasizing in Athletic Training.

Tarantino started his career with the Padres in 1995, serving as a batboy until 2000 and then working as a clubhouse assistant for two seasons. He graduated from Mission Bay High School in San Diego in 1996 and currently resides in Peoria, Arizona with his wife Melissa.
