Sean Kazmar wins Player of the Week

Fort Wayne, IN – Fort Wayne Wizards second baseman Sean Kazmar was named the Midwest League Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, August 14.

Sean Kazmar becomes the second Wizard to be named Player of the Week for hitter's after Colt Morton received the award from April 18-April 24. He is also the first Wizard to earn a Player of the Week honor after right-handed starter Michael Ekstrom was named the Pitcher of the Week from May 16-22.

Kazmar finished the week hitting .524, going 11-for-21 with seven runs scored, three home runs, one double and five runs batted in. He was also 1-for-2 in stolen bases for the week. Defensively, he recorded 11 putouts and 18 assists. Recommended Stories
