Greg Sain, the BayBears first baseman, currently leads the league in home runs with 27, matching the BayBears all-time single-season record. He is batting .241 with 73 runs batted in. His RBI total ranks seventh in the league. He also ranks eighth with a .482 slugging percentage and is tied for seventh in extra base hits with 47.
Brad Baker, who was promoted to Triple-A Portland on Monday, posted a 2-1 record with 1.57 earned run average. Baker notched 30 saves, 10 more than any other pitcher in the league. Baker’s saves total also broke the BayBears single-season and career records in his first season as a closer.
Chattanooga placed four players on the team while Mobile, West Tenn, Carolina, and Greenville each placed two players on the team and Tennessee and Huntsville each had one selection.
