Brad Baker, Dale Thayer Promoted
Dale Thayer's numbers at Lake Elsinore this season are somewhat similar to Baker's numbers in Mobile. He posted a 2-1 record with a 1.63 ERA in 50 games with 23 saves. Thayer allowed six earned runs in his first game of the season, but has allowed only four earned runs in the 49 games since. Thayer played college baseball at Chico State University in California before being signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Padres prior to the 2003 season. In 2003 with Fort Wayne, Thayer went 1-3 with a 2.06 ERA and 25 saves. He was named to the full-season Midwest League All-Star team and named Best Reliever in the Midwest League in the Baseball America Best Tools survey.
Mobile's roster remains at 23 players, one below the Southern League limit.
