Padres Farm

Posted Jul 19, 2004

Baudilio Figueroa has been added to the Fort Wayne Wiazrds roster. His travels will take him from one Peoria location to another as he will be on the roster today, in time for the Wizards matchup with the Peoria Chiefs.

Baudilio Figueroa was signed as a non-drafted free agent on July 5, 2001. He began his career with the Padres Dominican Summer League team in 2002 where he hit .281 with five doubles, four home runs and 12 runs batted in during 43 games. He spent the 2003 season with the Idaho Falls Padres and hit .243 with one double and one triple, along with six runs batted in over 40 games.

Figueroa’s addition to the Wizards brings their roster to the maximum-allowable limit of 25 active players.

Figueroa was with the Padres’ team in Arizona where he was hitting .308 in 15 games. The 21-year-old infielder had four doubles and a pair of home runs before being promoted. He also scored nine times and drove in six. He appeared in two games at third base and 12 at shortstop.
