De La O, a 30th round selection by San Diego in 2003, spent last year with Idaho Falls. He was 3-1 in 31 appearances, including two starts. He recorded three saves and struck out 56 and allowed 47 hits in 48 innings of work. De La O was second on the Idaho Falls staff in saves and strikeouts while averaging 10.5 strikeouts per nine innings.
The Wizards current roster now has 23 players. The San Diego Padres are expected to assign new players to Fort Wayne following the Midwest League All-Star break.
