Padres Minor League Notebook: Swept Again

The Padres Minor League affiliates were swept on Monday with one game going down to the wire. Greg Sain continues to show he belongs in the lineup in Mobile while the number one San Diego Padres prospect gets on the board. A day after applauding his base running, one Friar prospect got caught. Meanwhile, injuries are haunting Elsinore.

Portland lost 3-2 Joey Hamilton went four innings, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk. The game was tied until the bottom of the eighth when Xavier Nady could not field a ball cleanly. A double and a sac fly later and the game was decided. Mike Bynum pitched four innings in relief and gave up the one run, unearned. Nady had a terrible day all-around as he struck out three times...
