Comeback Win in Throwbacks
Sean Burroughs went 2-for-3, drew a walk and was hit by a pitch while batting in the leadoff spot for the first time in his two major league seasons. He scored in the seventh when Mark Kotsay hit his fifth home run of the season.
The Padres started their comeback with two runs in the sixth off Montreal starter Tomo Ohka. Ramon Vazquez tripled to drive in Rondell White, then scored on a single by Gary Bennett. Bennett drew a bases loaded walk in the seventh plating the last run of the evening.
Scott Linebrink (3-2) pitched one inning for the win, Jay Witasick pitched the eighth and Rod Beck closed for his 18th save in 18 opportunities.
