El Paso are ready to come home and San Antonio catches a break on a throwing error. Nick Mutz has a tough game for the Storm and the TinCaps win on pitching and defense. The Ems go down at home and the AZL Padres have the day off.

Fresno Grizzlies 6 - Chihuahuas 0

Prospect Watch:The Chihuahuas dropped their third straight game and will be home on Monday night to begin an eight game homestand....Newly acquired 3B/2B Taylor Lindsey had a pair of errors...Rehabbing Padres’ second baseman Jedd Gyorko flew out to right, walked and struck out in his three plate appearances. 1B Yonder Alsonso is scheduled to join the Chihuahuas tomorrow...A better performance by starter Donn Roach who had one of his better games after giving up four or more earned runs in his four of his past five starts.

San Antonio 6 - Midland Rockhounds 5 12 innings

Prospect Watch:James Needy had his worse start all year but the Missions offense put more runs on the board tonight than they did in the past two games to get the victory in extra-innings. In the top of the twelfth inning San Antonio opened the game with a pair of singles by CF Rymer Liriano and LF Hunter Renfroe. After C Robert Kral flied out, Liriano was able to score on a throwing error by the Midland pitcher to win the game...SS Diego Goris after hitting .324/.347/.514 in Lake Elsinore had his first game with the Missions and was 1-5....Since coming off of the disabled list 2B Cory Spangenberg has hit in 15 of his 18 games.

San Jose Giants 8 - Storm 2

Prospect Watch:Relief pitcher Nick Mutz, who until a week ago was the closer for the Tin Caps, saw his ERA blow up as he gave up three runs in the fifth inning, took out the side in order in the next inning and then gave up three earned runs without getting an out in the seventh...SS Jose Rondon played in his second game for the Storm since coming over in the Huston Street trade. Rondon, 20, is according to ESPN’s Keith Law the primary prospect in the swap. Overall between Lake Elsinore and Inland Empire he is hitting .327/.361/.415.

TinCaps 2 - Cedar Rapids Kernels 0

Prospect WatchLefty Jeffery Enloe has bounced between San Antonio and Fort Wayne this year had one of his best starts of the season as he held the opposition to only four hits. The TinCaps only managed five hits themselves but strong pitching and clean defense gave them a victory...SS Trea Turner has now hit in all of his first seven games in the Midwest League....RHP Ryan Butler, the Padres seventh round pick in this year’s draft is also off to a nice start with seven strikeouts in 5.1 innings against only two walks and with two saves...Today was the TinCaps’ sixth victory in the past eight games.

Hillsboro Hops 3 - Emeralds 2

Prospect WatchFirst the answer to the quick question, no SS Franchy Cordero was not in the either in the field or as DH after making three errors last night and four earlier in the week. He did pinch-hit in the ninth inning, grounding out to end the game...LHP Bryan Verbitsky got in trouble in the ninth when he walked the lead batter which was followed by a single to move the runner to third, who scored on a fielder’s choice by the next batter....Eight hits by the Ems tonight, but 1B Marcus Davis had the only one for extra-bases.
