Prospect Watch:A pair of three-run innings gave the home town Grizzlies the win for El Paso’ second straight loss...For the third straight month Jeff Francoeur is having a good month at .344/.375/.443 in July...Newly acquired Taylor Lindsay made his debut with the Padres coming in as a defensive replacement in the seventh inning. He grounded out to shortstop in his only at-bat in the ninth inning...Dennis O’Grady had his sixth straight outing where he didn’t allow an earned or unearned run.

Prospect Watch:With the exception of a run in the first and two in the second, the Missions’ offense was once again shut down on Saturday night...Leonel Campos had a rare bad outing giving up three earned runs, although in his last three starts he has been a little more hittable...Rymer Liriano is having a good July hitting .288/.344/.475...Reliever Jeff Ibarra has also had a very good July with an ERA of 0.87 in 10.1 innings with two saves in two opportunities.
San Jose Giants 4 - Storm 3 11 innings

Prospect Watch:The visiting Storm lost in the bottom of the eleventh inning after Adam Cimber gave up a lead-off single, was moved over to second on a sacrifice bunt, and then was singled home to win the game...It was a rare mishap for Cimber who has been very good this year in both long and short relief with a 2.58 ERA in 52.1 innings...C Dane Phillips keeps on producing with another good night. In July he was hitting .393/.443/.661 with eight extra-base hits in 13 games.

Prospect WatchA three-run sixth inning sank the visiting TinCaps to end their four game winning streak...SS/DH Trea Turner is now hitting .440/.517/.640 in Fort Wayne. What is unusual is that usually the Padres’ top picks have hit very well in Eugene and then struggled in Fort Wayne. WIth Turner it has been the opposite...Local star (Indiana) Josh VanMeter is having his second straight good month at .292/.382/.375 after struggling in his first two...OF Nick Schulz, who was signed as an undrafted player at the end of this year’s draft, has been a nice pick-up by the Padres. Since late June he is hitting .281/.324/.375

Prospect WatchSS Franchy Cordero had his first game back since making four errors at shortstop on Tuesday night and on Saturday night he made three more; all on throws. At this point he is really in a tough situation because he has the talent and skills to play shortstop, just hope it does not develop into a mental thing as it did with Steve Sax and Chuck Knoblauch...At the plate he can still hit with a .280/.341/.500 slash line...On a more positive note 1B/OF Marcus Davis is really hitting at .357/.456/.626.
