Prospect Watch:The Chihuahuas scored ten of their 12 runs on four home runs as they rolled the home town Storm Chasers to break a three game losing streak...A couple of guys on the Chihuahuas are starting to put up some serious offensive numbers. Jeff Francoeur is having his second strong month hitting .325/.329/.575 with nine extra-base hits this month but only one walk in 81 plate appearances might have more than a few teams have a wait-and-see attitude...Chris Nelson, who was originally picked as a shortstop in the same draft as Matt Bush, hit his first home run for El Paso. Nelson is expected to see time at second, shortstop and first.

The Missions rallied for a run in the bottom of the inning before going down to their second loss in three games...Hunter Renfroe was 0-4 and is now 2-14 in his first four games with a home run and a pair of walks....The Missions bullpen started the game and did a great job of cobbling together a string of scoreless innings that should have been enough for the victory.

Prospect Watch:The Storm have the best record in the organization and just keep on rolling. Down 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Lake Elsinore put six runs on the board for the victory...Colin Rea had his second strong start of allowing one earned run or less. In 15 starts he has a 3.50 ERA and a 60/26 K/BB ratio in 72 innings pitched...Alberth Martiniez continues his up-and-down season. This month its up with a .311/.375/.475 slash line...With Trevor Gott being promoted to AA, Brandon Alger is now the closer. This month he has been a perfect two for two in save opportunities and hasn't given up a run in 8.2 innings.

Prospect WatchThe TinCaps split a doubleheader in what turned out to be a very long day as the nightcap went 11 innings...Dustin Peterson added to his organization leading RBI total of 58 with a pair in the first game..Ronnie Richardson, in addition to being an emergency pitcher, has a .449 OBP in 129 plate appearances...Josh VanMeter has been seeing more games at shortstop this month and is hitting .313/.365/.386...It was the fourth straight start where Kyle Lloyd where he has allowed three earned runs or more.

Prospect Watch After dropping their first four games the Ems have now won four in a row...The big question is how long Turner will be in Eugene with the Padres having a desire to have both Cordero and Turner play everyday at shortstop...Cordero is off to a much better start in Eugene as he is rotating between DH and shortstop with the exception of one glitch where he had three errors in one game. Offensively he has hit in six of his eight games....Joe Epperson, a thirteenth round pick out of this year's draft, is off to a nice start in his first three game with an unusual .444/.444/.444 slash line in his first three games.
