Prospect Watch: Two years ago Rico Noel led the Padres organization in stolen bases with 90. Last year he stole 59 in San Antonio. Unfortunately this year Noel has yet to find regular playing time in El Paso, and when he does get playing time he hasn't shown he deserves more. Noel is a gold glove centerfielder with great speed. But like so many speed guys, if he cant get on base he isn't much of a prospect. Noel has reached base seven times in the last four games so hopefully that is a sign of him coming out of a season long slump.

Prospect Watch: The stretching out of Leonel Campos continues. In his second start Campos threw 60 pitches, 33 strikes. Like he has most of the year, Campos continued to struggle with location. He struggled last year averaging 5 BB/9 innings, and that number increased to over a walk an inning in AAA earlier this year. Since his demotion he has become better with the walks, but is still having a problem with location. In AA he is getting hitters to swing at balls out of the strike zone, something he wasn't getting in AAA. However, if he cant locate his pitches he will never get past AA.

Prospect Watch: Welcome to baseball Trea Turner. In his first minor league appearance Turner went 1-4 as the DH. He led off the game by striking out. Third inning he singled up the middle, and then showed off his speed by scoring on an error as the third baseman threw a would be double play ball into right field. He later struck out, and grounded out with the bases loaded in the sixth. He walked and scored in the ninth. Turner will play shortstop tomorrow.
