Prospect Watch:Matt Wisler had his second strong game in AAA after four rough early starts. In his past two outing he has allowed a grand total of one earned run over 13 innings...Offensively Cody Decker and Jake Goebbert were the stars with a pair of two-out RBI in the first inning to put the Chihuahuas up 3-0. El Paso added two more in the seventh which was enough to stave off a late rally by the Rainers...SS/2B Tyler Greene has turned out to be a solid pickup from the Braves and is hitting .310/.348/.465...El Paso has now won four in a row.

Missions 5 - Arkansas Travelers 0
Key Statistics: CF Reymond Fuentes 0-3, 2BBs, SB (7); RF Yeison Asencio 2-4, HR (4), SB (5) 3 RBI; 2B Casey McElroy 1-3, 2B, BB; 3B Adam Buschini 2-4; RHP James Needy (W, 4-3) 5.2 IP 7 H 2 BB 3 Ks; RHP Leonel Campos 2.0 IP 2 Ks.Prospect Watch: James Needy had a big May with a 2.15 ERA in five games and he kept it going with another strong start today as he pitched shutout ball for five innings. He lowered his overall ERA to 2.61 and the Santana graduate has now given up four earned runs in his last 30.1 innings...Another day, another game and again we write about Yeison Ascencio having a multi-hit day. Since going 5-6 on May 23, he has hit in nine straight games and in all but two of them he has more than one hit.
Storm 6 - Visalia Rawhide 5 11 innings
Key StatisticsSS Diego Goris 3-5, 2B, HR (9), RBI; CF Hunter Renfroe 1-4, RBI, BB; 3B Gabriel Quintana 2-5; C Dane Phillips 2-3, HR(1), 2 RBI, 2 BBs; RF Luis Domoromo 1-4, BB; RHP Joe Ross 6.0 IP 4 H 3 R 3 ER 2 BB 4 Ks, HR; RHP dam Cimber (W, 4-0) 3.0 IP H 3 Ks.
Prospect Watch:The Storm played small ball when newly promoted Dane Phillips led off the eleventh inning with a walk and Lake Elsinore was able to advance him around the bases when he scored on Corey Adamson's RBI groundout...The Padres have always believed in Phillips‘ bat, and it showed today, the big question on him is defensive and if it can come along he could be someone to watch with his power stroke from the left side....A rather quite day for Renfroe after his big offensive explosion on Saturday night...Third straight game that Joe Ross has given up at least three earned runs. He may be in Lake Elsinore longer than many early in the season anticipated...Adam Cimber was a big star of the game blanking the opposition for the final three frames to get the win. With the exception of one bad outing on May 25, Adam had now allowed a run since May 1. He doesn't have big strikeout numbers, but a 2.12 ERA in the Cal League is impressive.

West Michigan Whitecaps 19 - TinCaps 1
Key Statistics2B River Stevens 2-3; CF Mallex Smith 0-3, HBP, SB (42); LHP Payton Baskette (L, 1-2) 3.0 IP 5 H 7 R 6 ER 5 BB 2 K HR; RHP Tony Rizzotti 2.0 IP 5 H 7 R 7 ER 2 BB 2 HR; RHP Wilson Santo 2.0 IP 4 H 5 R 4 ER 2 BB 2 K HR; RHP Ronnie Richardson 1.0 IP 2 H BB K.
Prospect Watch:The bad news is that the TinCaps suffered their worst loss in franchise history going back to the days when they were known as the Wizards. The good news is their manager Michael Collins was ejected for the first time this season after arguing with the umpire over a check swing in the bottom of the first. The news is positive because Collins didn't have to watch the rest of the game...Mallex Smith now leads all of professional baseball with 42 stolen bases...Aside from giving up a pair of earned runs in his first outing, five-foot-six outfielder Ronnie Richardson hasn't allowed a run in his last three appearances. Maybe he is another Jason Lane in the making.
