MadFriars' Daily Farm Report: May 16

All four affiliates go down and for the most part hard.

Las Vegas 51s 10 - Chihuahuas 2

Key Statistics:SS Jace Peterson 1-3, BB; 3B Jonathan Galvez 2-4, SB(1); CF Rico Noel 1-3, BB; RHP Matt Wisler (L, 0-2) 5.0 IP 9 H 5 R 5 ER 3 K HR.

Prospect Watch: We were at El Paso for the game. Please see out game story for more details.

Frisco RoughRiders 4 - Missions 1

Key Statistics: CF Reymond Fuentes 2-4; 2B Adam Buschini -2, BB; LF Rymer Liriano 0-2, 2 BBs; RHP Josh Geer (L, 1-5) 6.0 IP 10 H 2 R 2 ER 2 BB 3 K.

Prospect Watch:Josh Geer gave up ten hits but only allowed a pair of runs as once again he had no offensive support. Despite a 1-5 record Geer has only given up more than two runs in two of his nine starts...The Missions are hitting .219 as a team and only have three regulars that have a batting average of .250 or above.

For further reading on the San Antonio Missions, see the San Antonio Express-News.

Modesto Nuts 9 - Storm 3

Key StatisticsRF Corey Adamson 3-5, 3B, 2 RBIs; LF Jeremy Baltz 2-4, RBI; 2B B.J. Guinn 1-3, BB; RHP Bryan Rodriguez 7.0 IP 2 H 10 K; RHP Cody Hebner 0.2 IP 6 H 7 R 7 ER 2 BB K.

Prospect Watch:Bryan Rodriguez pitched his best game of the season but a rare meltdown by relief pitcher Cody Hebner saw the Nuts plate eight runs on the top of the eigth inning...How tough is it to be a relief pitcher? Hebner's ERA went from 1.50 to 4.01 on the basis of one bad inning.

South Bend Silver Hawks 5 - TinCaps 3

Key Statistics DH Fernando Perez 2-3, BB; RF Franmil Reyes 1-2, 2 BBs; 1B Jake Bauers 1-3, 2 RBI, BB; C Adolfo Reina 1-3, BB; RHP Adrian De Horta 5.0 IP 5 H 3 R 3 ER 4 BB 4 K; RHP Eric Yardley (L, 0-1) 3.0 IP 2 H 2 R 4 Ks.

Prospect Watch:The Silver Hawks broke a tie game in the eighth inning when the first South Bend batter was able to get on base with an error by 3b Dustin Peterson, his fourteenth of the year. South Bend was able to plate two, which was the difference in the game. On the positive side Peterson is leading the team in doubles with 12 and is third in total bases with 54....The biggest problem that De Horta has is with his command. His K/BB ratio is 21/18…Man-child Franmil Reyes, who is only 19 and six-foot-five, 240 lbs., is hitting .292/.362/.460...Fernando Perez had his fifth walk of the season, his second this month in 152 plate appearances this season. He is also hitting .333/.357/490 and is leading the team in extra-base hits with 15. So much for stat heads, which includes me.
