Renfroe hit his fifth home run last night

El Paso emerged from the best hitter's park in PCL victorious while Hunter Renfroe's bat, strikeouts and all, powers the Storm and Fort Wayne looks like they can really hit.

Prospect Watch: The Chihuahuas scored three in the first and Cody Decker's three-run home run to left in the third was all El Paso needed to win an d pull two games from evening their record to .500....In nine plate appearances as a pinch-hitter/pitcher Jason Lane is hitting .375/.444/.500 and had his first RBI of the season...CF Cameron Maybin has now hit in three straight games.

Prospect Watch: Hunter Renfroe is leading the Cal League in strikeouts with 27 in 18 games. He is also leading the organization with five home runs and 17 RBI, so anyone is going to take that trade...Alberth Martiniez is leading the team in total bases with 38, which is also in the top five for the Cal League... Typical Zach Eflin performance tonight, allows some hits, gets some strikeouts and keeps the opposition off of the scoreboard while getting the win.

Prospect Watch: The TinCaps opened up with seven runs in the bottom of the first and cruised to their fourth win in five games despite giving up 10 runs...A very big day for Mallex Smith and with a talented outfield above him in Lake Elsinore he might set some records in the Midwest League...Fernando Perez, 20, a third round pick in the 2012 draft battled injuries all year long last year. The Chula Vista native by way of Central Arizona College (JC) was considered one of the better hitters the organization drafted is now hitting .345/.362/.509 is in the top five in batting for the league and seeing time at both first, second and third...Three TinCaps, Dan Phillips, Perez and Franmil Reyes are in the top ten for batting in the Midwest League.
