Rico Noel led off the game with a double, one of five by San Antonio, and was driven in with a single by LF Adam Buschini. The Missions put four on the board in the first inning and never looked back…A big win by Josh Geer, who made his twelfth start of the year and it was his best of the season. Geer was the Texas League Pitcher of the Year in 2007 and obviously a big part of San Antonio winning the championship that season with Chase Headley, Nick Hundley and Will Venable. This year the thirty-year old Geer threw 100.1 innings with a 3.41 ERA toggling between starting and coming out of the bullpen…Rico Noel has a .458 on-base percentage in the playoffs.

Prospect Watch: Fort Wayne forced a deciding third game with a big win on the road in South Bend. Hunter Renfroe, who has struggled in the Midwest League, homered in the sixth inning to give the TinCaps the lead. The Silver Hawks came back to tie the game in the bottom frame of the inning but the TinCaps broke the game open with four runs in the eighth as Gabriel Quintana hit a two-run home run. Renfroe then followed with a triple and was driven in by LF Luis Domoromo. ..A great outing by Colin Rea. It hasn't been a great season for Colin Rea, whom many in the organization thought had a chance to really break out this season, but after a rough start in Lake Elsinore with a 6.07 ERA he bounced back in Fort Wayne with a 2.09 ERA in 43 innings. In his last three outings as a starter he was 2-0 with a 2.40 ERA as he held the opposition to a .167 batting average…Renfroe is now hitting .429 in the playoffs and Fort Wayne is hitting .292 as a team.
