Ervin Debuts at Single A

Ervin Was 1st Round Selectin out of Samford

2013 Reds first-rounder Chad Ervin made his single A debut Tuesday at Dayton. The outfielder did not need much time to master the Rookie League level and now the Dragons will work him into regular action in an outfield that contains some other top Reds prospects for the time being.

Dayton rallied for five runs in the seventh inning in a 6-2 win over visiting Bowling Green. Nick Travieso got the start but did not figure into the decision. He danced around seven hits and two walks in five-plus innings to limit the Hot Rods to one run.
