Tacoma Rainiers 6 – Tucson Padres 5 (10 innings)
Key Statistics LHP Robbie Erlin 5 IP, 7 H 4 ER, 2 BB, 3 K; CF Jaff Decker 1-5, 2B, 3 K; LF Ben Francisco 2-3, RS, 2 BB, SB (4).
Prospect Watch: The starting pitching roulette continues to find no takers. The night after Anthony Bass struggles to save face, Robbie Erlin suffers the same fate. Erlin hasn’t gone more than six innings since Memorial Day.

San Antonio Missions 5 – Frisco RoughRiders 0
Key Statistics RHP Keyvius Sampson 6 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K; LF Reymond Fuentes 1-3, 2B, RBI; 3B Jake Blackwood 2-4, 2 2B, RS; CF Rico Noel 2-5, 2 RS.
Prospect Watch: RHP Keyvius Sampson extended his scoreless streak to 18. Sampson is walking fewer batters, striking out more and hasn’t suffered a loss since May. In fact, Sampson has thrown a shutout in five of his last eight starts... Reymond Fuentes has struggled since coming off the disabled list. After hitting over .300 in April, May and June, Fuentes is hitting only .250 in July with no triples or home runs and a .580 OPS.

Lake Elsinore Storm 4 – High Desert Mavericks 6
Key Statistics LHP Frank Garces 5 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, BB, 6 Ks; CF Travis Jankowski 2-5, 2B; C Austin Hedges 2-4, 2B, RS, RBI, SB (4).
Prospect Watch: The Padres don’t seem to know exactly what they want to do with Johnny Barbato. In the past two weeks he has been the closer, setup man, and then tonight threw three innings in middle relief. He was tagged with the loss as he gave up four runs, one earned, on five hits over those three innings. There are signs of improvement as he went from a near 1:1 K/BB ratio in April to a ratio of over 5:1, 16/3, in July.

Fort Wayne TinCaps 3 – West Michigan Whitecaps 4
Key Statistics LHP Max Fried 6 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 5 BB, 6 K; 2B Maxx Tissenbaum 2-3, 2 2B, RS, RBI; C Dane Phillips 1-4, HR (5), RBI.
Prospect Watch: Max Fried still has great stuff but with very little control. The lefty leads the club in strikeouts with 81 but has also walked 42 including five tonight. Over his last ten start Fried has walked 0-1 batters three times, 2-3 batters four times, and 4+ batters three times. The inconsistency with his location is what is keeping Fried from reaching his full potential.

Eugene Emeralds 5– Boise Hawks 4
Key Stats: RF Hunter Renfroe 2-5, 2 2B, 2 RS, 3 K; CF Ronnie Richardson 4-4, 2B, RS, SB (4); RHP Erik Cabrera 4 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, 5 BB, 4 K.
Prospect Watch: Four Ems were named to the NWL All Star team. CF Ronnie Richardson, 1B Trae Santos, and pitcher Yimmi Brasoban and LHP/SP Erik Schoenrock. Santos had the game winning, walk off single to give the Ems the 5-4 win.
