San Antonio Missions 3 – Springfield Cardinals 1
Key Statistics RHP Keyvius Sampson 7 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 10 K; 1B Johan Limonta 1-4, HR (3) (walkoff) 2 RBI; LF Adam Buschini 2-3, HR (4), RBI
Prospect Watch: Back to back completely dominating starts by Keyvius Sampson. In his last two outings Sampson has gone a commanding 14 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 22 K. Over the last month Sampson has been using his slider more, which has led to more swing and misses. Sampson has found his control, generated more strikeouts, and has finally seemed to master both control and feel for his fastball, change, and slider.

Lake Elsinore Storm 2 – High Desert Mavericks 3
Key Statistics RHP James Needy 5 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, 3 K; RHP Cody Hebner 1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K; CF Travis Jankowski 2-4, RS, 2 SB (49)
Prospect Watch: CF Travis Jankowski stole his 48th and 49th bases of the season. While he leads the league by far in stolen bases, he had not stolen a base in over a week. Jankowski, who just turned 22 on the 15th, managed to hit more extra base hits in June (9) then he did in April and May combined (8). While he is still thought of as a primarily average and speed guy, the slight increase in power should be enough to keep outfielders honest.

Lake County Captains 6 – Fort Wayne TinCaps 3
Key Statistics RHP Joe Ross 4 IP, 13 H, 6 ER, 0 BB, 1 K; LF Luis Domoromo 2-4, RS, RBI; RF Corey Adamson 2-4, SB (19)
Prospect Watch: Joe Ross continues to not be the same since his debacle during the MWL all star game. In his two starts since the all star game Ross has allowed 12 runs on 22 hits. During his three starts prior to the break Ross had gone 18.2 innings, allowing only 2 runs on 11 hits. Ross currently has thrown 76 innings this year, already 22 more than he threw all of last year.

Eugene Emeralds 4 – Hilsboro Hops 0
Key Stats: LHP Erik Schoenrock 7 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 K; C Michael Miller 2-4, 2 2B, RS, RBI; 1B Trae Santos 2-3, 2 RS, BB
Prospect Watch: Catcher is probably the deepest position in the Padres' organization and so far this year the best position player in Eugene has been Michael Miller. Through 11 games Miller is hitting .345/.406/.414. With Dane Phillips and Rodney Daal in Fort Wayne he should be there for the full season
AZL Giants 8 – AZL Padres 5
Key Stats: 1B Tommy Medica 2-4, 2 2B, 2 RS, RBI; RF Franmil Reyes 3-5, RS, RBI; 3B Dustin Peterson 1-5, RS.
Prospect Watch: Tommy Medica should be just about ready to return to the Texas League after a pair of doubles and escape the scorching heat of Phoenix. There are still quite a few 2013 draft picks unsigned so we should see more coming into Eugene and the AZL in the next week or two.
