TUSCON, AZ: The T-Padres beat the Colorado SkySox 7-3 on Saturday night getting a strong start by right-hander Sean O’Sullivan behind a disciplined offensive performance.

CF Dan Robertson was in the middle of everything with getting on base four out of five times, with a pair of hits, a hit-by-pitch, scoring twice and driving in a run.

“Its anyway I can get on base because you can’t score runs without that,” Robertson said after the game.

‘Whatever I need to do’ that was the approach of the team tonight and I think that is why we are going to have a good team this season.”

Robertson is now hitting .376/.455/.553 on the year and is leading the team in nearly every offensive category.

Sean O’Sullivan put together a strong outing mixing a good fastball to go along with his sinker slider repartee. If it hadn’t been for a pair of misplayed balls by third baseman Jonathan Galvez he would have thrown a shutout.

“Errors are going to happen and I never hold position players responsible for that because I am going to make bad pitches,” Sullivan said after one of his better starts this season.

“The only thought is picking that team mate up and limit the damage.”

O’Sullivan has changed his approach from previous years and has began to mix in more of his fastball to go along with sinker/slider mix.

“My arm slot had been a little lower because I was trying to get more run on the ball but I was leaving it in the zone too long.”

“After looking at some tape I tried to drive the ball down through the zone which actually helped my velocity a little more. It also got me more back into the mode of attacking the batter.”

The hit that broke open the game was by pinch-hitter Cody Decker who broke open the game with a pinch-hit triple. Decker, with the talent that is on the roster, has struggled for consistent playing time and has been thrust into the unfamiliar role of a pinch hitter delivered with his first pinch-hit of the year in the seventh inning.

The win breaks a three game losing streak by the T-Padres after putting together a six game winning streak. The T-Padres wrap up their homestand on Sunday afternoon before going on an eight game road trip.

“We got a lot of guys that care about what they are doing and getting better,” Robertson said.

“I was really proud of how many guys were able to pick up other tonight. That is the sign of a good team.

T-Padres Notes: With the injury to Tommy Medica in San Antonio Cody Decker was sent down after the game to fill in and play everyday. Keyvius Sampson who has struggled in all of his four starts was also sent to the Missions.
