Prospect Watch: It was the Matt Andriese show and we were all invited to the show. While he typically gets overshadowed by Roach and Smith, Andriese was still a Top 20 prospect in the Padres organization and showed he can make an argument for Top 10. In four starts this year the 23 year old has only allowed two earned runs… The Texas League is viewed as a pitcher's league. Despite that the Mission's have the top three hitters in the league based on batting average. Williams (.373), Fuentes (.356), and Blackwood (.347) have all started the year on fire… Tommy Medica is also second in the league in home runs (5), and third in OPS (1.010).
Prospect Watch: Scary moment in the game. In the top of the sixth, the JetHawks loaded the bases with one out. A ground ball to third, Duanel Jones' threw home. Hedges' caught it and recorded the out, but was hit hard by the runner coming home. Hedges would leave the game. Later reports said he had a twisted knee and ankle, but planned on being back in the lineup tomorrow… Frank Garces had his fastball working. Nearly fifty percent of fastballs he threw were swing and miss. Unfortunately, no other pitch was working for him. He tried to slow down his mechanics but ended up leaving pitches flat and up.

Prospect Watch: Weickel continued to be wild, walking four in less than four innings. However the four strikeouts in a game is a new career high. However, he is excelling at getting ground ball outs (2.5:1), but an error and a passed ball led to an unearned run… Corey Adamson has now hit safely in 8 of his last 10 games, and now has 12 RBI on the season in just 14 games. Last year, Adamson played in 95 games, but collected only 29 RBI.
