AAA Tucson
Oh Aaron Poreda. In the 11th Poreda comes in and goes BB, HBP. Then when PMac tries to bunt the runners over Poreda throws it away allowing Willits to score the walk off. Brilliant!
Thatcher continues to tell management that he is ready whenever they decide to call him up. The lefty went 0.2 of an inning striking out both hitters. In 6.1 IP in AAA Thatcher has allowed 1 ER, 3 H, 3 BB, and 9 K.
AA San Antonio
Great start by Kelly, but the offense could never seem to get the big hit. Well Firsco decided to help out. Bottom 10 the Missions win on the great bases loaded, walk off, BALK. Brilliant! 2-1 win
One of the reasons why people think Kelly will be so special is because of his great GB rate. Coming into the game he was boasting a 1.68 GO/FO ratio and that went up even higher as Kelly collected 10 GB out in 6 innings. His line for the game was 6 IP, 5 H,1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K. It was the 9th quality starts in 22 GS.
Not much offense to brag about. The Missions collected only 4 hits, left 6 LOB, and went 0-3, with RISP. In fact the 1 run that scored previously came on a GIDP by Robertson so no RBI was awarded meaning 0 RBI for the Missions. Decker, Parino, and Altman (2) had the hits, all of which were singles.
Erlin will make his Missions debut tomorrow

Storm start off the 1st walk, HR, and never looked back cruising to an easy 7-1 win
The Dominican up the middle dynamic duo continue to smash. Valdez hit the HR (above) and went 3-5, HR (11), 2 RS, 2 RBI, while Galvez went 1-3, HR (11), 2 RBI, HBP. With the 3 hits Valdez raised his OPS above .790 for the 1st time this year. The SS is hitting .308/.345/.591 in the 2nd half. Galvez just continues to put up impressive #. The 20 year old is hitting .299/.370/.488 on the year and has a .925 OPS in the 2nd half. He has managed to lower his K rate, raise his BB rate, and steal more bases. Not bad…
Andrew Werner got back to his winning ways. The right hander pitched 5 innings, 5 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K. He improved to 4-1 on the year (with the Storm) and lowered his ERA back below 3. Matt Lollis also pitched 2 scoreless innings allowing 2 hits while striking out 4.

Brushing up on my Spanish tonight. Liriano = muy bueno, bullpen = muy mal. 9-2 loss
Liriano went 3-3, SF, 3B, RBI tonight. Lets just throw some stats at you. Liriano is currently on a 9 game hitting streak. In those 9 games Liriano is 18-34, 3 2B, and 2 3B. He has raised his OPS from a great .883 to an amazing .921. Since the all star break Liriano has a triple slash of .364/.416/.580, If that’s not good enough how about a .376/.405/.624 line in July. Yep…Fuentes #3, Liriano not in top 10. You are a genius Mr. Mayo.
Cory Spangenberg was moved out of the #2 spot in the lineup for the 1st game this year. He hit 8th and proceeded to go 0-3. After reaching base in every game he played in in Eugene, Spangenberg has hits in only 7 of the 18 Tin Caps games he has been in. He currently has an OPS of .388 just by comparison 6 hitters on the Tin Caps have SLG% higher than his OPS
