Minor League Recap April 17th

Saturday was a day of wins, today well not so much

AAA Tuscon fell in extras 5-6

Leblanc was solid allowing only 3 ER (10 H) in 7 innings, 0 BB, 7 K. The Padres had a lead late thanks mainly to 3 hits from Evereth Cabrera (including his first HR of the year). But in the 9th Scribner blew his 1st save, and in the 10th Scribner gave up a 2 run HR as the Padres fell in extras 5-6

San Antonio was shut out 0-5

Missions forgot how to hit. Maybe they were just tired from running the bases. Either way the Tulsa starter came in with a 16 ERA, and the Missions made him look like Nelson Figueroa. Buschmann had a solid outing going 5 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K. Darnell also went 2-3, 2B, BB to raise his BA to .514. Missions fall 0-5

Lake Elsinore had chances late but fell 3-5

Storm were down by 3 going into the 9th, but started the inning with 3 BB, 1 HBP and a sac fly. Bases loaded 1 out, down by 2, for cleanup hitter Freiman and Hagerty. Of course both of them strike out to end the game.

Lollis was roughed up early on he ended up going 5 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 5 K. Reymond Fuentes had possibly his best game as a Storm yet, going 3-5, RS, RBI, SB (3),

Fort Wayne is still in search of offense and lost 2-4

milb.com had Wener getting the start for Fort Wayne, and it wasnt until after the game was over that the loss (and start) was given to Adys Portillo instead. So I will assume it was Portillo who went 4 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 2 K. Sanchez pitched a strong 3 innings, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K. In the end the only Tin Cap that showed up to the game on offense was Jake Blackwood who went 3-4, 2 2B, HR (3), 2 RBI. Wow they miss Tate and Williams. Fort Wayne falls 2-4
